Celebrate VE Day 80 with Wadworth’s Swordfish Ale!

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day and we’re raising a glass and raising support for a piece of history that changed the course of World War II: the legendary Swordfish plane.

Wadworth’s Swordfish Ale was first brewed to celebrate 100 years of Naval Aviation, a unique blend of classic Wadworth beer and Pusser’s Navy Rum, the same rum rationed to the Navy during WWII. It’s history in a glass!

80p Per Pint for Navy Wings

On 8th May 2025, every pint of Swordfish sold in Wadworth managed pubs will send 80p straight to Navy Wings, the amazing charity keeping the story of the Swordfish alive. (That’s a big leap from the usual 5p, because 80 years deserves something special.)

Can’t make it to the pub?
You can order Swordfish online 24/7 and enjoy a taste of history at home.

Swordfish
The Fairey Swordfish might not look like much, a slow-moving biplane in the era of sleek metal fighters but it was a game changer.
From crippling the mighty Bismarck to dominating anti-submarine patrols, the Swordfish proved time and again that courage and cunning can outmatch firepower. It was versatile, tough and legendary... And it remains an icon of naval aviation.

Funds from every pint and bottle of Swordfish help keep the last flying Swordfish in the world in the skies. That’s real history, still alive today.
