A Visit to Navy Wings: Supporting Naval Aviation with Swordfish Beer
Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the Navy Wings heritage hangar to meet the passionate team behind the scenes, dedicated to restoring, preserving and maintaining some of the Navy's most iconic aircraft, including the legendary Swordfish. It was an incredible experience, getting up close to the aircraft and seeing firsthand the care and skill that goes into keeping these historical machines in the sky.
As a proud supporter of Navy Wings, we’ve been thrilled to see our Swordfish beer, originally brewed to mark the 100th anniversary of the Fleet Air Arm, soar in popularity over the years. What started as a special anniversary brew has now become a year-round favourite and it’s not just the flavour that makes this beer stand out – it’s also the cause behind it.
Wadworth x Navy Wings
With every pint or bottle of Swordfish beer sold, 5p is donated to Navy Wings, a charity dedicated to preserving naval aviation history and maintaining the Navy's iconic aircraft. Your purchase of Swordfish beer helps ensure these aircraft are preserved for future generations to enjoy.
We loved seeing the aircraft up close and, in a truly unforgettable moment, even had the chance to sit in the Swordfish itself! There's something truly special about experiencing history in such an intimate way and we’re proud to support such an important cause.
The Unique Taste of Swordfish Ale
Swordfish is more than just a beer – it's a celebration of both flavour and history. Experience the enticing depth of Swordfish ale, a remarkable fusion of Wadworth beer and Pusser’s Navy Rum, boasting an ABV of 5% for those seeking a distinct flavour profile.
More than just a flavourful ale, Swordfish has a subtle rum essence and incorporates dark, unrefined sugar, lending it a luxurious smoothness. With its deep copper hue, derived from a blend of crystal malt and delicate Fuggles and Goldings hops, this full-bodied ale not only delights the palate but also supports a noble cause.
