Wadworth pubs now offer Food & Drink collection points

Regional pub operator Wadworth has created food and drink collection points at four of its pubs in the Wiltshire and Somerset areas so that customers are able to pre order their weekly food, meat and drink over the telephone and then collect from the nominated pub. Partnering with local butcher Walter Rose and grocery and fresh food supplier Arthur David, customers can get access to a wide array of food and household items, and avoid the supermarket rush.

Four local pubs are involved with the full collection package.  The George in Norton St Phillip, the Barge in Seend, the Greyhound in Siddington and the Pheasant, Chippenham have the details on their websites with lists of the meat and groceries available.  Customers contact each individual supplier with their order and card payment and state which pub they would like to collect from.  The customer is then given a date to collect.  On arriving at the pub, they ring the pub and remain in their car.  Their order is then brought out to the car park and left 2 metres from their car.  The customer then collects the food order having had no contact with another person.  They can also order Wadworth beers to be collected at the same time.

Speaking about the initiative, operations manager for Wadworth, Toby Bartholomew said, “We wanted to be able to do this in partnership with our local food suppliers.  Supermarket deliveries and click and collect are in short supply so this way we can offer something very similar through a simple telephone order and collection at our pub car parks, whilst keeping everyone safe.  It’s a great way to support the local communities our pubs serve”.

Wadworth has also rolled out a similar smaller service to four more pubs this month (April) offering pre-prepared boxes of groceries from Arthur David.  Details of which pubs involved are detailed on Wadworth’s website https://www.wadworth.co.uk/more/food-and-drink-collection/
