New Wadworth shire takes top prizes at the Royal Bath & West Show

New shire horse Sam gets own set of rosettes

Sam, the new shire horse who joined the Wadworth shire horse team this year walked away with two first prizes at his first event representing the family brewer at the Royal Bath & West Show.

Sam who is 7 years old and is 18.2 hands took the first prize for Single Trade Turnout Class and Champion Single Turnout.  He also managed to gain a 2nd alongside his partner Max in the Pairs Trade Turnout class.

Speaking about the new boy’s success, CEO for Wadworth, the independent family brewer based in Wiltshire, Chris Welham said, “We are so proud of our shire horse team and this is wonderful news.    Sam has settled in really well since he joined us and we are all really pleased he has now started his very own rosette collection”.

Wadworth has three shire horses, Max, Archie and Sam who are based at the brewery in Devizes.  The public can see them every Thursday morning from 9.30 am or during a pre-booked brewery museum tour which can be arranged on www.wadworth.co.uk.
