At our Sign Shop, we take great pride in maintaining the tradition of hand-painting all signs for our pubs, making us the only brewery to do so. Leading this charge is our master sign writer, Wayne.

Wayne's talent and passion for sign writing have earned him a stellar reputation. He's been on popular television programs like Bargain Hunt and Countryfile, where viewers have had the pleasure of witnessing his artistry in action. One highlight for Wadworth was receiving a visit from King Charles, who not only admired Wayne's work but also added a personal touch by finishing off one of our signs.

A unique aspect of Wayne's craft is his use of real gold leaf in his designs. Gold leaf, with its ability to shine brightly in the sunlight and maintain its gleam for many years, adds a touch of elegance and durability to our signs. Whether it's golden letters or intricate gold leaf embellishments, Wayne's work brings distinction, flair, and value to every sign he creates.

Wayne's expertise extends beyond pub signs. His skill and dedication have also led him to renew the Armed Forces emblems on giant wreaths displayed at the Field of Remembrance in the grounds of Westminster Abbey after Jeff Short, Manager at The Poppy Factory in Richmond did a brewery tour and was so impressed with Wayne’s work.

A vital part of our unique pub signs is the work of artist Dave, who paints the beautiful artwork on each sign. Dave's incredible talent brings the designs to life, with intricate and vibrant paintings that capture the essence and personality of each pub. From charming illustrations to detailed scenes, Dave’s designs are more than just signage—they’re a representation of the heritage and personality of each pub.

Wayne and Dave ensure that each sign is not just a marker but a piece of art that reflects the heritage and pride of our brewery and pubs.
