Why run a pub in Wiltshire?

Famous for endless rolling hills and miles of canals, Wiltshire is not short of stunning countryside.  It’s also well known for its ham, as well as being a cyclists paradise (there are around 120 miles of cycling paths intersecting even the lower reaches of the county).

Renowned for its ancient history, Wiltshire’s home to the magnificent Salisbury cathedral, which has the biggest spire in the UK, and the iconic Stonehenge, which attracts over 800,000 visitors each year.

Did you know? People from Wiltshire are often referred to as moonrakers, based on local legend that Wiltshire smugglers would try to ‘rake the moon’ out of brandy they were bringing out of a pond!
